Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 package (8 oz) uncooked lasagna noodles
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully
browned. Drain any excess grease. Add the marinara sauce, tomato sauce, garlic powder, and
Italian seasoning. Stir well and let the sauce simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to allow
the flavors to blend.
Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, 1 cup
of shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and eggs. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Step 3: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 4: Assemble the Lasagna
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Place a single
layer of uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce. Add a layer of the cheese mixture, followed
by another layer of meat sauce.
Repeat the layers—noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce—until all ingredients are used,
finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.
Step 5: Add the Cheese Topping
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the lasagna.
Step 6: Bake
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue
baking for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly
golden.
Step 7: Rest and Serve
Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with
a fresh green salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
