🧀 Mac N Cheese 🧀
Comfort food at its finest! This Mac N Cheese is creamy, cheesy, and oh-so-satisfying. Perfect for a cozy night in or as a side dish at your next dinner party. 😋🍽️
Ingredients:
1 lb elbow macaroni (or pasta of your choice) 🍝
4 tablespoons butter 🧈
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 🌾
3 cups whole milk 🥛
1 cup heavy cream 🥛
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese 🧀
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 🧀
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 🧄
1/2 teaspoon onion powder 🧅
Salt and pepper to taste 🧂
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping) 🧀
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Pasta:
Boil the elbow macaroni in salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. 🍝
2️⃣ Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the flour and whisk to form a roux (paste), cooking for about 1-2 minutes to get rid of the raw flour taste. 🧈🌾
3️⃣ Add the Milk and Cream:
Slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook and stir until the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes). 🥛
4️⃣ Add the Cheese:
Once the sauce is thick and creamy, lower the heat and gradually stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. 🧀
5️⃣ Season the Sauce:
Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Adjust seasonings as needed. 🧂
6️⃣ Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and stir to coat evenly. 🧀🍝
7️⃣ Serve:
Serve your creamy Mac N Cheese hot, and if you like, sprinkle some grated Parmesan on top for extra cheesy goodness! 🍽️
Pro Tips:
Baked Mac N Cheese: For an extra crispy top, transfer the mac and cheese to a baking dish, sprinkle with more cheese, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
