Flavorful Carne Asada Marinade
This vibrant carne asada marinade is packed with fresh citrus, warm spices, and savory flavors that work together to tenderize the meat while infusing it with a bold, mouthwatering taste. Perfect for grilling, this marinade turns flank or skirt steak into a juicy and delicious dish ideal for family meals or summer barbecues.
Ingredients
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- ¼ cup lime juice (about 2 limes)
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
- In a medium bowl or a large resealable plastic bag, combine all the marinade ingredients. Whisk well until the mixture is fully blended.
- Add 1–2 pounds of flank or skirt steak, making sure the meat is evenly coated with the marinade.
- Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to develop. For best results, marinate overnight.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and grill over medium-high heat until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
- Let the meat rest for a few minutes, then slice thinly against the grain and serve.
