For the Hamburger Steaks:
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water for thickening)

Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Make the Hamburger Steaks: In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Shape into 4–6 oval patties.

Sear the Steaks: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the hamburger steaks for about 2–3 minutes per side, until browned (they don’t need to be fully cooked). Transfer to the baking dish.

Prepare the Gravy: In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the sliced onions until soft. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the heavy cream. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until slightly thickened.

Bake: Pour the gravy over the hamburger steaks. Cover with foil and bake for 25–30 minutes, until the steaks are fully cooked and the flavors meld together.

Serve: Let rest for 5 minutes, then serve hot with mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, or roasted vegetables. Enjoy!
