Cheese and Herb Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
500g bread flour
10g salt
10g instant yeast
30g unsalted butter, softened
300ml water
200g shredded mozzarella cheese
100g grated parmesan cheese
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
1 tbsp chopped fresh dill
2 garlic cloves, minced
Olive oil, for brushing
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and yeast. Add the butter and roughly 240ml of water. Gradually add the remaining water while mixing until you have a soft, cohesive dough.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise:
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Prepare Herb and Cheese Mixture:
In a separate bowl, mix together the mozzarella, parmesan, parsley, basil, dill, and minced garlic.
Shape the Bread:
Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, about 1cm thick. Brush lightly with olive oil. Spread the cheese and herb mixture evenly over the dough.
Starting from one long side, roll the dough up tightly to enclose the filling. Cut the roll into slices, about 2 inches thick.
Second Rise:
Place the slices cut side up, slightly spaced apart, on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover loosely with a damp cloth and let rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Brush the top of the bread with a bit more olive oil and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Let the bread cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for a gooey cheese experience!
Conclusion:
This cheese and herb bread is perfect as a standalone snack or as a companion to your favorite meals, bringing a delightful herby touch and cheesy goodness to the table. Whether for a gathering or a family dinner, this bread is sure to impress!
